The Honorable James W. Ziglar
Mr. Ziglar brings more than 40 years of experience in management, marketing, finance, law, and public policy to his active leadership of Cross Match. He was named President, CEO and a Director in August 2005 after having served as a member of Cross Match’s Advisory Board since 2003.
Prior to joining Cross Match, Mr. Ziglar was a Managing Director and Chief Business Strategist for a division of UBS Financial Services, Inc., in New York City, and had a total of 17 years’ experience as an investment banker. He also practiced law for eight years.
Mr. Ziglar was elected as Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate in 1998, and in August 2001, he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Mr. Ziglar was a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at The George Washington University Law School, and a Fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government Institute of Politics.
In addition, Mr. Ziglar has served at various times during his career as an Assistant Secretary of the Interior, as a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Harry A. Blackmun, as a congressional and public affairs officer in the U.S. Department of Justice, and as an aide to the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
Mr. Ziglar is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Biometric Industry Association, and serves as a Member of the Division of Earth and Life Studies of the National Academy of Sciences. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He has been admitted to the bar in Virginia, New York, Arizona, and the District of Columbia.
