Dr. Michael Jahnich is the technical director and chief requirements engineer of HJP Consulting GmbH, a consulting firm specialised in the planning, procurement and approval of e-passport and ID card solutions.

Having more than 11 years of experience in smart card technology, he has accompanied several passport manufacturers and issuing authorities in Europe and Africa on technical aspects of their e-passport schemes. Michael was acting as the co-editor for the latest ICAO test standards for e-passports. He is a member of the DIN committee for the standardisation of machine readable travel documents and contactless technologies.
